In traditional maps and GIS systems, buildings are handled as 3D polylines and polygons that describe the shape of the roof. In 3D systems, we want to turn this into 3D volumes.
Use this tool to generate the buildings from building information imported from SOSI - create roof surfaces from the feature FootprintRoof / "GrunnflateTak".
Click Building / "Bygning/Tak"
Choose an assignment template (optional)
Give the task a suitable name
Select the calculation basis
Select the feature type "GrunnflateTak". Only this can be selected.
It is possible to generate roof surfaces for several thousand buildings in one operation. Please note that this will then take minutes, approximately 1 minute per 1000 buildings.
Select stretch vertically. For example, set this to have an object to follow to the terrain surface. If necessary, enter a value below the terrain surface as well, for example -2 m, to simulate basements.
Click OK
