Trimble Quadri Help
Civil Design Assistant for Quadri is an AI-powered tool designed to help you navigate and use Trimble Quadri’s functionality efficiently. Whether you need assistance with setup, troubleshooting, or best practices, Civil Design Assistant is here to help you.
Civil Design Assistant is only active within a Connected Project, not in a single-user model.
NB: Note that prior to Quadri for Windows version 2026.3, the name of the Assistant is called "Trimble Assistant" and have less capabillities than the new Civil Design Assistant.
You can open Civil Design Assistant for Quadri either from:
Clicking the icon from the View ribbon tab
Clicking the icon in the top right corner
Civil Design Assistant can help you with a variety of tasks, both about functions, but also asking specific questions about the active workset.
Here are some basic prompts you can enter to get started:
"How do I create a new project?"
"Show me how to use the Automation tool."
"Can you list up all the tasks in this workset?"
"List up all reserved tasks in this workset."
"Can you list up dependencies for this task?" (while having a task from the Explorer selected).
Civil Design Assistant provides step-by-step instructions for various tasks. For example, to create a new project rule:
Click the "Home" tab in the Quadri interface.
Click "Project Rules."
Enter the name for your new project rule, for example, "_Project Rules for Quadri course."
Click "Conversion Rules." and click "Add."
Select the conversion rule you want to add.
Click "Open" at the bottom right of the dialog and click "OK."
Click "Auto Check Rules."
Add the automation rule you want to include, for example, "Number boreholes.gruleset.xml."
Click "OK." and click the save button to save your project rule.
To upload these rules through the Project Rule task, you need to share all your changes in the model to the cloud so other participants can receive them.
