Design to Device

The Design to Device tool allows you to select features like alignments, stringlines, and surfaces in a Quadri model and send them straight to selected devices in the field. The tool will typically be used by contractors in the field who have access to a Quadri model, selecting the data they want to feed to their machines on site.

Prerequisites

The selected features in the Quadri model will be exported to an XML file and further dispatched as a design to the devices defined in Trimble WorksManager and linked to the same Connected Project as the Quadri model. To support the entire workflow, there are several prerequisites that must be met; otherwise, the tool will be unavailable.

Send data from Quadri to devices in the field

2. Select a suitable name for the task.

3. Select Tasks and Features in the model, using the Dynamic Query.

4. If necessary, define the extent of the features under Location (from to stationing/chainage):

5. Adjust the settings - Check the Combined Surfaces box in order to combine all selected surfaces into one. Give the surface a suitable name.

6. Preview the design to check that the surface is created correctly - can be done in both 2D and 3D.

7. Click Finish - an xml-file will be created and sent, in order to dispatch a Design in WorksManager.

A Wizard will open:

8. Select the surface - Select Alignment - The design is created - Select Device  - and Finish to dispatch the design. The features selected are sent directly to the selected devices and also to Works Manager. If the same file is sent a second time the version number will be updated to the latest version.

9. Find the Design in WorksManager.
