Layer Standard - Mapping
Field Code/Classification
When selecting to use 'Field Code' in the schemas then the cogwheel will start a dialog to set up the 'Code' or 'Description' to use found in the collections.
To add data press 'Add'.
To change the classification and if 'Code' or 'Description' is to be used, press the added row to change the content.
Add Prefix and/or Postfix to each row. The rows will be gathered to create one layer name based on the classifications.
If a row of type 'Field Code Delimiter' is added then the second row will be part of the CAD layers Description.
5. Press OK to complete the export to CAD.
6. Check the file to see that the data is exported as requested.
Note: The Layer Name and Layer Description are reversed, as requested in the classification grouping dialog in the previous step.
Layer Mapping Schema
Using schemas is the default setup (if not Field Code is selected to use) and when pressing the cogwheel the schemas will show in the 'Layer Mapping Editor'-dialog.
An empty 'Layer Mapping Editor'-dialog shows a column with <Default Schema> and no other schemas.
To start a layer mapping add a new schema with the button for 'New NameSchema'.
Edit the schema name through 'Edit Schema's name:' and press the button to update the schema name.
The connection between the naming in <Default Schema> and the Presentation Setup is shown in the images below.
The drawing rules in the Presentation Setup will be listed in <Default Schema> column and when adding a layer name in the new schema, here Example Schema, the data drawn through the rule, will be drawn to the DWG layer name.
5. The image below shows that the data drawn through the drawing rule TrafficLane - Surface will land on the CAD layer name '_Example_TrafficLaneSurface'.
The <Default Schema>-name can be tricky to identify, but looking through the list it will be easier to find when comparing the content in the Presentation Setup with the listing.
6. As the 'Layer Mapping Editor' can contain multiple schemas, you need to pick the correct one to use.
7. In CAD, you can see the layer name as defined drawing the data collected by the drawing rule in the Presentation Setup.
Note: Data in the Presentation Setup that does not have a layer mapping in the schema will get a general name.
