Import Laser Data
Importing Laser Data files is done by the same basic procedure as described here. Laser Data can be stored as grid data, surface point data, or TIN data.
Grid Data
Grid Data
This is the quickest way to import laser data. This is due to filtering of the result to suit the grid size set by the user, (or if set in the UI, calculated by the program).
Surface Point Data
Surface Point Data
Imports all the data and displays it as a surface. This import path does not filter any data, hence it takes a longer time than a grid data import.
TIN Data
TIN Data
Takes all the input coordinates and triangulates them. There is no filtering mechanism for the laser data, hence large laser data files could take significant system resources.
