Locate Along Network
Locate selected features to the network and its Linear Reference System.
Find it here:
Select Link Sequence
Select the link sequence, this can be found under the associated alignment task. Alternatively, you can scroll to the bottom of the Explorer and see all the network elements (NetElements) in the model.
Note: If the you are struggling to select the link sequence, deselect the desired link sequence and reselect it.
Note: If you cannot see the NetElements, enable Show Net Element in the Explorer properties.
Select Features
Select objects that you want to connect to the Network Element using a suitable query method.
Settings
Search Distance
The distance in meters to search in each direction for features to associate to the network element
Multiline Extent Recursion Depth
The number of link sequences and nodes used to search for routes over multiple link sequences.
Example
In the example image on the right, a manhole has been connected to the alignment (network element).
The chainage/stationing used to connect the manhole is perpendicular to the alignment - this can be seen in the image below. The Network Location can be found at the bottom of the properties window, under Along Network. Since the geometry of the manhole is a 3D solid, it gives a range of 69.7 m - 70.7 m; this is the start and end location of the manhole geometry. If the geometry type was point instead, it would give one chainage/station value for the point, rather than a range
Using this function will allow the Feature Extent view to show where the feature is located along the network. Furthermore you are able to add this Network Location information to defined properties. Here is an example: Use case 02: Network Location to Property Set
Note: You must define the property set beforehand in the Quadri Configuration, it will not work with a generic property
