Apply Hotfix/Patch Files to your Installation
When Support asks you to APPLY HOTFIX/PATCH FILES TO YOUR INSTALLATION
In some specific cases, you may receive a file to do a hotfix/patch file for the software to fix some bugs that are critical for you and that cannot wait.
When you receive a hotfix/patchfile directly from support or a Trimble employee for use on your Quadri for Desktop or Novapoint installation then it is recommended you do some steps to ensure that you do not disturb future official updates.
Identify what version of Quadri for Desktop or Novapoint you are using.
Find the installation folder on your machine.
Make a copy of the installation folder.
The folder can be put next to the original installation, or be moved to another location if you want.
Add the received hotfix/patch files to the COPY of your installation.
You may need to replace some files.
Start the COPY of Quadri/Novapoint by starting the Novapoint.cmd or Novapoint.exe file.
We recommend to delete the copied installation when an official update is available in the market. The copy should not be used longer than strictly necessary.
