Quadri BCF Topics Tools

The Quadri BCF Topics Tools feature is removed in Quadri version 2024.3

This is due to enhanced Model Selection Possibilities inside the BCF Topics component - learn more about model selection here

Quadri BCF Topics Tools space

Using the Topics tools in the Quadri for Windows Topics pane means accessing the same Topics tool found in Trimble Connect. However, due to the different nature of the two platforms, sometimes the Topics need to be handled differently in Quadri.

As part of the Topics pane in Quadri for Windows, you have access to the additional Quadri BCF Topics Tools space. Here are gathered some necessary additions for the Topics in Quadri to work better with Trimble Connect.

Trimble Connect Models

To look at the views inside your Topics in Trimble Connect, suitable models need to be open. If not, you might end up zooming in on objects currently not visible in 3D.  If Trimble Connect is not actively used in the project and all the participants are using Quadri only, this can be disregarded.

When a new Topic is created in Trimble Connect, a view is always created; the currently open models are associated with that view. When you later click the Topic, the associated models are automatically loaded. When you create a Topic in Quadri however, you must associate models manually with that Topic.

The Trimble Connect Models list in Quadri BCF Topics Tool shows all the models that currently exist in the project in Trimble Connect.

When the Topic is created, the selected models will be associated with the main view of that topic, and the models are automatically loaded when you look into the Topic inside Trimble Connect.

When you create additional views in the topic, you can select suitable models in the list to be associated with that particular view.

Dynamic Query

Use the Dynamic Query in order to select features in Quadri you want to associate with a Topic. This is done with the Link Model Objects feature.
